intend to commence with
site set up and construction phase of the Telephone House development on 6 May 2003
YORK ROAD - on the north side of Telephone House site, Town Centre, Tunbridge Wells, TN1
The development on York Road threatens to seriously damage the whole fabric of this tiny street.
The new Telephone House Estate will be so overbearing, as it is THREE times government guidelines in density terms.
0.3 hectare = 0.7 acres is the insignificant size of the land of Telephone House [ BT's former administrative headquarters of the Tunbridge Wells telephone area ] which CALA Homes bought from Crest Nicholson after the very controversial appeal decision by the Planning Inspectorate
(Inspector Malcolm Lewis who granted the planning permission is no longer in the services of the Planning Inspectorate)
140 units / hectare = 60 units / acre - an extremely high density CALA Homes want to achieve
1 May 2003
CALA Homes Construction Director Malcolm Baker advises that CALA Homes intend to commence with the site set up and construction phase of the Telephone House development, Tunbridge Wells, TN1, on Tuesday 6th May 2003.
Contractors and staff are aware that traffic access and egress and the delivery of construction material and plant will be from Church Road only.
Site Manager will be David Griffiths.
